What we pay attention to
When we build and review pages, we pay attention to keyboard access, visible focus, useful heading order, form labels, alternative text, colour contrast, and layouts that work at different screen sizes. We also consider reduced-motion preferences when a page uses animation.
These practices guide our work, but this page is not a certification or a claim that every page is free of barriers. The site changes over time, and automated checks do not catch every problem. Feedback from people using keyboards, screen readers, zoom, voice control, or other assistive technology is useful to us.
How to report a barrier
Use our contact page and describe what you were trying to do. Please include the page address, the step where the problem occurred, and the browser or device you used. If you use assistive technology and are comfortable naming it, that detail can help us reproduce the issue.
If a format prevents you from accessing information, tell us what format would work better. The START Canada Team will review the request and look for a practical way to provide the information or fix the page.
