Why we are building it
A resume is useful, but it cannot answer every question that comes before a job application. People also need to understand where they are ready, where they need practice, and how to organize the work and credentials they already have.
START Canada is designed for students, newcomers, and people changing careers. The same information can also help career services teams and employers hold a more focused conversation about readiness. It does not replace a hiring decision or promise a job.
What we are working on
The Employability Score Platform connects four experiences in one web and mobile application. Assessments and progress insights help a person review strengths and gaps. Career Readiness Bootcamps and events connect those gaps with focused practice through StartJobs.ca. The embedded Professional Profile and Authenticity Certificate organize career evidence, while Self Check Verification helps candidates review information that may come up during hiring.
The experiences answer different questions without becoming separate products. An assessment can point to a topic that needs work, but it does not verify a background detail. A profile can organize evidence, but the reader still decides whether that evidence matters for a role. Our methodology page explains how the platform works.
How the product works today
The web and mobile experiences support the same connected journey: assessment, focused preparation, professional profile building, and self-check work. We continue to improve instructions and workflows as people use the product.

Who is behind the work
The START Canada Team builds the product and writes and reviews the information on this website. Boris Poludo, founder and CEO of StartNew Technologies, is named on the current website as the founder leading the work.
